This beautiful 2021 Orange Shirt Day design was created by Shayne Hommy, a grade 11 student in Dawson Creek.
WHAT ORANGE SHIRT DAY MEANS TO ME
Orange Shirt Day means justice and awareness for Indigenous people to me. My Moosum attended Residential School so it means a lot to me that some I love and care about so much had to experience residential school.
WHAT MY DESIGN IS ABOUT
My design is three little indigenous girls from different tribes holding hands to represent the unity of our people (Indigenous People), resilience and strength throughout the many years of suffering Indigenous Peoples had to face.
$1.50 from the sale of each shirt goes to the Orange Shirt Society
